Arundo - Premium Prestashop theme!

This document covers the installation and use of this theme and reveals answers to common problems and issues - I encourage you to read this document thoroughly if you are experiencing any difficulties. Getting started

First of all, This theme isn't updated from 1.4.
This theme has been developed using the default Prestashop 1.5 theme.
To install this theme you must have a working version of Prestashop already installed. For information in regard to installing the Prestashop platform, please see the Prestashop Wiki - http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Getting+Started

 

Installation

Automatically installation of the template

If you want to install this theme automatically, please use native “Import/export a theme” module. You have to do following steps:

  1. First of all you should to extract downloaded archive
  2. download latest version of theme installator module from addons marketplace
  3. Login to your back-office and go to Modules page
  4. Click to "Add new module" button

  5. Select downloaded from addons module and click to "Upload this module" button

  6. Search "Import/export a theme" module through search bar.
  7. Install uploaded module

  8. Go to the configure of module "Import/export a theme"

  9. Select archive from extracted folder "themes", and click “Next” button

  10. On this step you will get information about installed theme. Click “Next” button

  11. On this step you will get information about theme installation status. Please mark all items (modules) and click “Next” button
  12. Next step will inform you about modules installation status, and images settings update. Click “Finish” button
  13. Now you should to go to the "Preferences" > "Images" and regenerate all images you have

Congratulations! You have installed your new theme and to check it out, go to the front- end of your online shop and take a look at it!

Manually installation of the template

If you want to install this theme manually, you have to do following steps:

  1. Download and extract it locally.
  2. Upload the entire “Arundo” to the “/themes” directory on your server.
  3. Login to your back-office and go to “Preferences” → “Themes”.
  4. Click to "Add new" button
  5. Type name of the theme - "Arundo", and name of the theme's directory - "arundo"
  6. Click to "Save" button
  7. Now select "Arundo" theme in the "Theme appearance" section below
  8. Click to "Save" button
  9. Upload the “/modules” folder contents to the “/modules” directory on your server.

Congratulations! You have installed your new theme and to check it out, go to the front-end of your online shop and take a look at it!

Configuring images

The dimensions of images are adapted to the design of this theme. We advice you to set the image dimensions according to the following screenshot:
To configure product image dimensions open PrestaShop admin panel, go to Preferences > Images. In some cases after image dimensions changes you need regenerate images. This can be done using the Regenerate thumbnails section.

Theme Customization

You can change a background, normal text and headings colors, logo and normal text font. More than 500 google fonts are available on the module settings. You can provide your visitors to change the shop style. The settings of each user are stored in browser cookies and displayed only to him. The customization made by you in the back office will display for all visitors.

So if you decide to customize your theme, you should to go to the settings of "Theme settings" module, or just click to "Theme Settings" icon in the homepage of your back office

General Settings

General settings allows you to manage global settings of your store.

  1. You can show or hide settings panel from your front page
  2. You can use two variants of main layout, "Left column + Center column" of "Center column + Right column"
  3. You can use or not the button which allows you to scrolling up to the top of the current page
  4. Tooltips on website are small things which can play a big role in website design. This is a good looking tooltip that appears when you mouseover a tooltip handle. You can use it or default browser tooltip.

Background

  1. This section allows you to set custom background color to your website. You can also use custom background color with patterns. Patterns has opacity about 10%, so you can get execllent custom background.
  2. If you want to use your own background image just upload it in this section. Once you have uploaded a background image you can't use patterns.

You have 2 variants of using logo, as a text or as an image. If you are using your logo as a text, you can type the name of your shop in the field "Shop name". Also you can add a slogan, if you have it.

You can customize your text logo by changing the size, color and font. All changes you immediately can see in the live preview below.

Buttons

You have possibility to change the view of theme's button. You can change the color of button and text, also you can change button's view for "hover" state. And of course you can change the font of button's text.

Text

You can change styles of headings, normal text and links.

Product Listing

You can choose the view of the category page.

  1. Show the category page as a grid or a list view
  2. Choose between 3 or 4 products per row

Custom CSS styles

You can put into this field your custom CSS styles.

Elastic Slideshow

Elastic Slideshow is a brilliant method to stack and present series of items (such as images) in your website especially when space is a constraint. Any image can be loaded into the slideshow by picking it from the upload form in the module setting.

Block Share

This module allows users to share, save, and bookmark your product with their favorite social sites including Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon, and many other services.

Product carousel allows you to show featured or new products as carousel. Also you can customize the number of total, scrolled and visible products.

You can create custom links with this module, which displays on the top of header

Banners Bundle

You can manage the banners on the home page with this module. You can show only three banners at a time. You can select an image title and link for each banner. Recommended image dimension is 298x148 pixels

Welcome Block

With this module you can introduce your store with intro text plus 2 special products
